Jean Marsh - Jean Marsh Lands Obe Honour

Veteran British actress Jean Marsh was honoured for her career on Tuesday (04Dec12) as Queen Elizabeth Ii presented her with an Order of the British Empire (Obe) medal.

The Upstairs, Downstairs star attended a ceremony at Buckingham Palace in London, where she was handed the accolade by the monarch for services to drama.

Marsh says, "It feels fantastic, I never thought I would get anything, I've won awards and things but I never thought I would get an Obe - it's extraordinary.

"It makes you look back at your career and all the bad reviews and whatever and you think, they're nothing compared to coming to the palace."

Other stars to receive Obe medals this year (12) include Take That singer Gary Barlow and actress Jenny Agutter.
