Jayma Mays - Jayma Mays Has Ocd Like Glee Character

Jayma Mays has admitted she suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) like her 'Glee' character.

The 32-year-old actress plays geeky guidance counsellor Emma Pillsbury - who has mysophobia, an obsessive fear of germs and contamination - and admitted she is similar to her alter-ego in the TV series because she has the same kind of OCD experiences as her character.

She added: "Emma famously suffers from OCD and I suppose I do have a bit of that. The other day, I noticed I'd arranged my spices in alphabetical order when I was on the phone, without even realising, and when I was a kid I was constantly cleaning and organising things - my toys, my sister's cosmetics."

Jayma - who married English actor Adam Campbell in 2007 - also revealed she found it hard to "have fun" when she was younger because she was always thinking about where her next job would be.

In an interview with Stylist magazine, she said: "I was so focused at 21, maybe to my own detriment because I didn't allow myself to have fun. I was constantly looking for the next audition and working to pay the bills.

"I would tell myself to relax a little more and have fun. I feel really content in my 30s actually - I don't feel like the wisest person in the world but I definitely don't worry or stress like I used to."

Jayma Mays: 'I Kneeled At Betty White's Feet' 3939449 News

Glee star Jayma Mays was so in awe of Tv comedy veteran Betty White when the two women first met she dropped to her knees to worship the former Golden Girls star.

The actress admits she completely embarrassed herself when she finally ran into White, who had been her Tv idol ever since she was a kid.

She says, "Golden Girls was like my favourite show, still is. I drink out of a Golden Girls mug every single morning.

"I met Betty White... I probably scared the poor woman... I remember seeing her and I kind of locked eyes on her... It was kind of an out of body experience.

"The next thing I remember I was kneeling at her feet. I was, like, worshipping an idol, but she was really gracious and she said really nice things, but she was probably like, 'Who is this weird woman kneeling before me?' She's wonderful."

Smurfs 2 - I'm Too Smurfy 3662398 Videos 14th May 2013

The Smurfs are back in a brilliant movie sequel that sees them take on evil magician Gargamel for a second time as he makes another attempt at harnessing the blue power of the Smurf people. This time, he has successfully created a group of similar creatures called Naughties, which he has plans to use to lure the impressionable Smurfette to him in order to finally win their potent magic. Aware of the kidnapping, the rest of the Smurfs band together on a rescue mission alongside their human acquaintances Patrick and Grace Winslow who agree to help them get to Smurfette and convince her that she belongs at home.

Right Said Fred, the nineties duo responsible for the number one 1991 hit 'I'm Too Sexy', has got involved in the promotions for the new film, marking the celebrations of Global Smurfs Day on June 22nd 2013, the day after 'The Smurfs 2' is released on the 21st. They have recorded a brand new track called 'I'm Too Smurfy', which isn't too dissimilar from their debut hit as you'd imagine, in a video featuring people in Smurf costumes getting funky and the duo painting their faces blue in honour of the Smurfs' return.

David Stem and David N. Weiss ('Shrek 2', 'The Rugrats Movie'). In this story of family and acceptance of differences, 'The Smurfs 2' will be released on July 31st 2013.

Jayma Mays Enjoyed Special Treatment With Fake Baby Belly 1653027 News Actress Jayma Mays was tempted to wear the prosthetic pregnant belly she dons in new movie The Smurfs during a night out - because she loved the special treatment she received from members of the public during filming.
The Glee star plays the pregnant wife of Neil Patrick Harris' character in the live action family comedy and she was pleasantly surprised every time she stepped out on the streets of New York to shoot the film.
She tells WENN, "I was pregnant (in the role). I was wearing the (prosthetic) belly which was great by the way. People are so nice to you when you wear a belly, like (they) open doors for you or ask you if you're hungry or need water. I did want to go to a bar with the belly on and just drink some shots!"
But May admits walking around with the bulging belly felt a little strange, because it gave her a glimpse into her own future.
She adds, "I've had to wear a belly once before for a job and you look in the mirror and it's weird and think, 'one day,' because I might have kids one day and this is what it's gonna look like. I think it probably freaked my husband out more than it freaked me out."
