Jay Kay Spent Break Flying High

JAMIROQUAI frontman JAY KAY took to the sky when the band went on hiatus - he focused on learning to fly helicopters.
The Space Cowboy hitmakers parted ways after releasing 2005's Dynamite because frontman Jay Kay was too exhausted by their schedule of promoting tracks on U.K. music shows.
He spent his five year break learning how to pilot - and insists it was just the hobby he needed to get back in the studio.
He tells Britain's The Sun, "I really needed some time out from it all so I took two years off and learned to fly a helicopter. It's like f**king physics, man.
"I got tired of the whole process of promoting singles - going on (kid's programme) Ant & Dec's show, then (music show) Top Of The Pops. Then another single - going on Ant & Dec's show, Top Of The Pops, and so it went on again."
