Jani Lane - Jani Lane 'Warrant' Singer Found Near Vodka And Pills
Jani Lane, the American rocker best known for fronting glam-metal band Warrant, was found dead at a Comfort Inn Hotel in Woodland Hills on Thursday (11th August 2011), reports Tmz.com.
Although the cause of death is still unknown, the website has learned a half-empty bottle of vodka and prescription medication was found in the hotel room. Paramedics were first called to the scene in Los Angeles at 5.15pm yesterday and the Warrant rocker was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for later today, although sources say the death is being treated as either an accidental overdose or a possible death from natural causes. The singer, who wrote and sang his band's biggest commercial success 'Heaven', had been arrested for numerous alcohol-related offenses in recent years. In 2009, he allegedly crashed into a parked car and was jailed one year later for a drunk-driving incident. The sudden death has stunned fellow musicians including Bret Michaels who tweeted, "We'd like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Jani Lane regarding their loss. Respectfully, Bret and all at Megi".
The singer is survived by his two daughters from two previous marriages, although neither has commented on the death.
