Janet Jackson: 'We Attempted Interventions With Michael'

The JACKSON family tried "a few times" to stage an intervention and put an end to MICHAEL JACKSON's drug dependency, the late superstar's sister JANET has confirmed.

The Rhythm Nation hitmaker was rumoured to have led a family initiative to help her troubled brother in 2007 and again earlier this year (09), months before the King of Pop died in June (09).

Michael's former longtime publicist, Raymone Bain, dismissed the claims in July (09), insisting reports the Jacksons were locked out of his Las Vegas home after trying to take him to rehab were "not true".

But Janet Jackson reveals they did attempt an intervention on more than one occasion - because they realised Michael was becoming more and more reliant on prescription medication.

In a candid TV interview with America's ABC News, she says, "Of course (we intervened). That's what you do. Those are the things that you do when you love someone, you can't just let them continue on in that way and we did (try an intervention)... a few times... we weren't very successful."

Janet hints that the Thriller star refused to seek professional help because he believed he had his addiction under control.

She adds, "(He) understood that it was (out of) love, because of caring, but when it's something like that (drug addiction), people can tend to be in denial."

The TV chat with newswoman Robin Roberts will air in the U.S. on Wednesday night (18Nov09).

Investigators looking into Jackson's death have focused their case on his personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray, who stands accused of administering the powerful prescription drug Propofol to the superstar prior to his death on 25 June (09).

Janet recently placed the blame for her brother's death on Murray, who has been identified in court records as a suspect in a police manslaughter investigation.

Michael Jackson was a great artist there is no doubt about it.I do not agree that there never should been a trial if they found enough evidence to go then so be it its like any of us samething we go get it over etc.He had great lawyers and the one thing I never agreed on was him not taking a polygraph test to confirm his innonsence of the first trial. It was a pay off that I don't like in any sitution take it let it show the truth. However that is said and done with. Then second one he was found not guilty so that I too agree with.We do have a good system but money doe's talk that is for sure.Look at the O.J Simspon case had they got him the first time they be alive today, but money bought that mans freedom for a short time now look he is finally where he belongs and hope he stays there the rest of his life. Now back to MJ he should have been left alone after everyone agreed to whatever they were settling for since in reality it was between them and not the public.MJ I do agree that the doctor as this prolongs they will find him at fault but not alone.I think the ones writing the precripstions should be just as at fault. He needed help MJ in my own personal opinion and this is the usa and free to speak,I do believe he had some major issues however we all do.I also believe his family is part to blame.MJ supported that family everyone of them turn to him for everything but Janet well maybe in the beginning I do believe he helped her alot in getting roles etc,but then she caring on and made it herself what she is today a fine artist.I do not go along with they speak of God then look how they live and lets not leave out this Latoya she is the worst of the Jackson clan along with Joe Jackson. Those two belong together she sure turned on MJ to get interviews paid she can't sing act or anything had to get a boob job to tried to look like MJ more doing her face and it is so messed up she has to hide it.When will they learn that plastic surgery is not always the best answer or learn and know when enough is enough she really out did herself gee Joan Rivers looks better then Latoya Jackson and at least Joan has enough class to admit her plastic surgeries that she is a remake, but back to MJ in all seriousness he was one of thee finest artist of all time and my deepest prayers for him and his children are my concern. The children indeed they loved their father as they should have and I have no doubt that he loved his children with all his heart and I do believe MJ was just lost somewhere beyond help because he just really didn't want it but he should have because for the love of his children.I want everyone now to just leave him alone let him RIP for I do believe he is with our Lord Jesus and let his children live as normal as possible and sure hope the jackson family is watched closly because they're all going to want to be those kids favorite aunt and uncles ashame but this is so true.I read and see them even cashing in on MJs death to me thats a disgrace of all mankind...RIP MJ and children know your father loved you the world needs to let this die dn now and let him rest...

Michael's early death was not a given. Only the most imperceptive would deny that the slow drip of the anaesthetic that killed him was - in reality, just a formality. What killed Michael, was the sustained trauma of being put through a baseless, protracted trial that should never have reached court, knowing that if found guilty he would be removed from his children's lives. And even after acquittal, facing the relentless villification by the media, who - post 2005, decided to simply disregard a verdict they found economically inconvienient. In years to come, perhaps reasons will emerge from the rubble as to why a supernovic talent with a history of unparalleled giving and a persona of complex innocence was systematically and wilfully humiliated, tortured and stripped of his dignity and spirit for a period of over 15 years on the basis of such astonishingly non-credible accusations – and more importantly, why this was actively encouraged. On the 25th November something amazing is going to happen. A global prayer, request, affirmation - call it what you will; is going to sweep the planet. Millions will come together at 14:00 LA time in a concerted effort to anchor love and healing on this planet, all on it and to connect with the - now world soul of Michael. Go to majorloveprayer.blogspot - for details and time converter information. An intention has also been put into effect. I invite all who wish to participate to add this intention into the effort on the 25th. Affirm it daily in your hearts and minds and hold this vision with trust and belief. ' That the truth of Michael's integrity and the innocence of his intentions and relationships with children will be unequivocally known and understood by all on this planet - in our lifetime.' The truth is coming.
