Janet Jackson 's recent appearance on Anderson Cooper's chat show has added fuel to the rumors that she may become a judge on the US version of X Factor. Last month, several of the show's stars faced the axe. Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul will no longer be returning as judges and Steve Jones' presenting duties have also come to an end.
A preview of the chat show episode, due to be aired on Monday, February 20, 2012 has been released, showing Cooper springing the question on Janet Jackson: "You might be a judge on the X Factor?" Janet responds, looking coy and tucking her hair behind her ears. The Daily Mail has reported that she goes on to say "No, I'm not a judge on The X Factor." Cooper then presses her further, saying "You're not currently a judge on The X Factor" to which she responds "No, I m not, but that's all I really think I should say."
Since the dismissals were made public last month, speculation has mounted over who is likely to take on the roles that have been vacated. Other stars rumored to have been asked include Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry, though none of these have been confirmed. In the interview with Cooper, Jackson also discusses her relationship with her late brother, Michael Jackson and offers some words of advice regarding loos and grieving, to Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of Whitney Houston, who passed away last weekend (February 11, 2012).
