James Brown - James Brown's Suit Goes Up For Auction
31 October 2012James Brown's white and orange suit, a shirt worn by The Beatles legend John Lennon during a family holiday, and several outfits sported by Lady GaGa are among items of rock 'n' roll memorabilia going under the hammer in December (12).
Brown's gingham outfit is valued at $800 (£500), and Lennon's shirt, which he donned on a trip to his wife Yoko Ono's native Japan, is expected to sell for up to $20,000 (£12,500) at the auction.
Other items in the sale include a 1963 dollar bill signed by all four members of The Beatles, with an estimated worth of up to $4,000 (£2,500), a dress worn by Dolly Parton during a gig, valued at $12,000 (£7,500), and the black frock sported by Madonna for a LIFE Magazine shoot, which is expected to fetch up to $50,000 (£31,250).
The 2012 Icons & Idols sale, by Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, California will feature several of Gaga's outrageous costumes, the most valuable being a snakeskin mesh dress which is expected to attract bids of up to $12,000 (£7,500).
The auction, which takes place over the weekend of 01-02 December (12), will also including clothes and jewellery worn by Bruce Springsteen, U2 guitarist The Edge's Converse footwear, and guitars signed by stars including Alice Cooper and Metallica.
