Jamaica's Busy Signal Facing Jail19 July 2012
The star, real name Glendale Goshia Gordon, was hit with two counts relating to smuggling cocaine in 2002, but he left Minnesota and has lived as a fugitive for the past decade.
The law finally caught up with Gordon in May (12) when he was busted in London and accused of travelling under a different name with false documentation. He returned to his native Jamaica, but was arrested at the airport.
The 33 year old was extradited to the U.S. on a charge of failure to appear in court and he admitted to the crime during a hearing on Thursday (19Jul12). He faces between 12 and 18 months in prison for the charge and a fine of up to $30,000 (£18,750) when he is sentenced at a later date.
However, Gordon will not face prosecution for the outstanding drug charges at this time - U.S. authorities do not have the jurisdiction to hold him accountable on those counts.
