Dave Stewart - Jagger/dave Stewart Supergroup Is Two Years Old
British musician Dave Stewart has confirmed he has formed a supergroup with Rolling Stones legend Sir Mick Jagger and revealed they managed to keep the project under wraps for two years.
The former Eurythmics star has been recording with Jagger, soul singer Joss Stone, Bob Marley's son Damian, and Slumdog Millionaire actor A.R. Rahman.
The New York Post reported the star-studded collaboration, dubbed Super Heavy, on Friday (20May11) and Stewart has now spoken out to confirm the news, revealing their two-year "jam session" has spawned 18 tracks which they plan to release as an album.
Stewart tells Beatweek magazine he is disappointed the story leaked, adding: "It's unfortunate. We've kept this quiet for two years. We have 18 songs recorded and mixed. We have all the staff and we're working on cradling this... It was like a huge long jam session that went on for months that then slowly turned into structure."
