Jackson's 9/11 Anthem Tops New Century's Country Countdown

ALAN JACKSON's WHERE WERE YOU (WHEN THE WORLD STOPPED TURNING) has topped a poll to find the greatest country song of the new century.
The Grammy-winning 2001 song, which was inspired by the 9/11 U.S. terrorist attacks, beat Johnny Cash's Hurt and Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss' Whiskey Lullaby to land atop TV channel CMT's 40 Greatest Songs of the Decade list.
The countdown debuted on Saturday (13Nov10).
The top 10 is:
1. Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning) by Alan Jackson
2. Hurt by Johnny Cash
3. Whiskey Lullaby by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss
4. Jesus, Take the Wheel by Carrie Underwood
5. Courtesy of the Red, White And Blue (The Angry American) by Toby Keith
6. The Good Stuff by Kenny Chesney
7. Live Like You Were Dying by Tim MCGraw
8. You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift
9. I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack
10. Need You Now by Lady Antebellum
