Jackson Voices God

Movie superstar Samuel L Jackson will voice God in a new audio version of the Bible.
The taped recording of the New Testament will feature many famous other black actors and musicians.
Jackson was given the lead role because producers felt his deep, authorative voice was perfect for the role of God.
A source tells British newspaper The Daily Telegraph, "Samuel's just finished recording a CD set of the New Testament. The recording is due to be released in September (06), with a box set of the Old Testament to follow next year (07).
"Scores of other black actors, musicians and athletes will also figure, but Samuel was deemed to be the perfect person to play God."

Where you been Calgary Dude,  James Earl Jones could never play the role of God. He went over to the Dark Side (no pun intended) in Adventures of the Starkiller: Episode 1 - The Star Wars, circa 1977. And before any of you Jedi Junkies go Chewbacca on me, I know James Earl Jones only did the voice of Darth Vader but I'd be willing to wager the gross ticket sales for it's opening weekend, $1,554,475.00 (Approx. $5.3M in today's dollars.) - if Mr. Jones had a nickel for every time someone did a bad imitation of him as Darth Vader, he probably wouldn't be doing back flips in commercials for Verizon today.  P.S. That famous Darth Vader line that everyone imitates so badly was not "Luke, I am your father.", it was actually "No, I am your father."

How about the great James Earl Jones for the voice of the Lord??? Cosby is also a good choice and whilst it is true that Samuel Jackson does have a good voice for the part, his roles and language do prevent one from enjoying his acting role in place of the Lord to say the least....You just can't get a more beautiful resounding voice then the great James Earl Jones!!!

A black man playing God? How ridiculous, black people don't even have morals or souls! They don't get into heaven. .

You can tell from the picture accompanying this 'news' that the following statement in the article is a little (a lot!?) off the mark -"... but Samuel was deemed to be the perfect person to play God."If that's not enough, look up some of the things he's said about major opponents of US and of our leaders elected by US.Then try to take him seriously in anything except 'to-say-and-do-what-I-say-for-pay' gig in a movie. Another Hwood joke on US.
