Michael Jackson - Jackson Slams Reports Of Branca Rift
Michael Jackson's mother Katherine has hit out at allegations she criticised the executors of the pop star's estate in court documents, revealing she did not sign paperwork attributed to her.
Reports surfaced on Tuesday (12Apr11) suggesting the Jackson family matriarch had filed court papers in which she took aim at estate executor John Branca and urged him to drop a lawsuit against the Heal the World Foundation charity.
But both Jackson and Branca have now spoken out to dismiss the story - the King of Pop's mother insists suggestions she signed the papers are untrue, and Branca has branded the reports "ludicrous".
Jackson's lawyer Adam Streisand tells Tmz.com, "Mrs Jackson categorically denies signing any statement to the court that makes accusations against the executors of any wrongdoing with respect to her son or his estate... She did not and would not make any such statements about the executors."
And in a statement, Branca and his co-executor John MCClain tell WENN, "We know that certain ludicrous statements were made recently that we won’t personally dignify with a response. We will continue to do our best to uphold and further the memory and legacy of Michael with the same passion that we have always held for him. We appreciate all of the support for Michael from his loyal and devoted fans."
The executors are pursuing a lawsuit against the Heal the World Foundation, claiming it has no link to Jackson or his former charity of the same name, and accusing organisers of infringement and unfair competition.
