MICHAEL JACKSON's family is to hold Christmas celebrations for the first time this year (09) - putting their own religious beliefs aside for the superstar's three children.
The Jacksons were all brought up as Jehovah's Witnesses, a Christian-based religion which does not recognise birthdays or Christmas.
But the Thriller hitmaker deviated from his family's belief system and always enjoyed the holiday season with Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II.
And family matriarch Katherine Jackson, who has full custody of the kids, is determined to put their former traditions aside in December (09) to keep the youngsters' lives as normal as possible.
Michael's sister La Toya, says, "We grew up as Jehovah's Witnesses and so didn't celebrate Christmas. But I think it's very important that Michael's children celebrate it, because that's what he did with them. I want them to continue to have that. I've spoken to my mother about Christmas and she said she will be celebrating."

| Jehovah's Witnesses reject all holidays even benign Mother's day, exception being the Lord's evening meal also called the Last Supper or Good Friday. WHY-Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t do Thanksgiving, and other holidays. I was born Jehovah’s Witness 1957 3rd generation,we didn’t celebrate Christmas. The reason JW’s don’t do Christmas is because their Watchtower leaders say so,the holiday has pagan aspects to it and by rejecting it the Watchtower appears “pure”. This “demand for purity” is one of the 8 marks of a cult.NOW the Watchtower can use this purity diversion to distract from their own practice of wicked deeds. The Watchtower leaders want us to be 'different' for the sake of being different.Jehovah's Witnesses are not 'happier' and are just as dysfunctional as families who do holidays. Jesus was not born on Dec 25th,but he also did not have his second coming in the month of October 1914,which is the core doctrine of the Watchtower religion. Santa Claus is a fairy tale and so is Watchtower 1914 dogma. | ||

| Besides not celebrating Christmas Jehovah Witness don't celebrate their birthdays,Mother's Day and so on... Personally I have granddaughters who's mother is JW and during Christmas we gave them gifts just like my other grands but they made sure that what they took home was neither a card or gift wrapping with Christmas logos They believe that when the world ends they are the only one who will survive. | I'm sure my sister Katherine will be protesting the careless 'portrayal.' by Latoya. Very misleading. Real Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate man made holidays. Katherine and maybe even Rebe may agree to be in the midst of it to be close to the children but we're quite serious about avoiding the actual festivities and songs. I always had to do this at work. It's no biggie. I believe the whole family loves the children, so God bless and guide all. M | ||
