Jackson Estate Facing Another Lawsuit
MICHAEL JACKSON's estate is facing yet another expensive creditor's claim - bosses of a Bahrain-based consultancy firm have filed a lawsuit alleging the later superstar died owing them $1 million (£666,667).
The King of Pop, who moved to the Middle Eastern country in 2005 after he was cleared of child molestation charges, is said to have hired AQ Consulting to help secure $300 million (£200 million) in financing to stave off his spiralling money troubles.
Executives at the firm filed papers at Manhattan Federal Court in New York on Friday (01Oct10), alleging the Thriller hitmaker never paid for their services, and seeking compensation from the late singer's estate, according to the New York Daily News.
It is the latest in a long line of claims from individuals and companies who were allegedly left with unsettled bills following Jackson's death last year (09).
