Jack White - Jack White Recruited To Write 'Lone Ranger' Score
Jack White really is looking to the future in the wake of his debut LP album 'Blunderbuss' being released this week and looking set to hit the top of the charts - certainly in the UK at least. If White telling The Hollywood Reporter "I would probably say absolutely not. Absolutely no chance," in relation to The White Stripes reforming, reports are now surfacing that the blues rocker will be writing the score to forthcoming Disney flick 'The Lone Ranger,' starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer.
It's another big challenge for White. He has had high profile soundtrack work before, writing the theme for 2008 James Bond film 'The Quantom Of Solace,' however composing the entire score is something else entirely. Nevertheless, this is a man who during his down time from The White Stripes set up two groups in the form of The Raconteurs with Brendan Benson and The Dead Weather with members of The Kills and Queens Of The Stone Age, so to underestimate his capabilities would be nigh on foolhardy - not least due to the fact that his latest project in his solo venture is going down amazingly well.
White was recruited by the studio to fulfil the role; the film itself is being directed by Gore Verbinski in a reunion between and Johnny Depp for the first time since the phenomenally successful 'Pirates Of The Carribean' franchise.
