Jack White - Jack White promises second album
Jack White has already started work on his second solo album, and says the success of the first is partly down to the fact he was hard on himself during its recording.
Jack White promises ''another album is on the way already.''
The singer has already started work on his second solo album after the success of 'Blunderbuss', released earlier this year.
The singer, guitarist, drummer and pianist also said he believes the success of his debut is because he was tough with himself the whole way through recording.
He told The Sun newspaper: ''I have an obsession with being hard on myself because I really need to feel proud of what I do.
''If I look back and see that I got the best engineers, that someone mixed the record for me, that it was just a bunch of people playing the parts, I couldn't live with throwing my name on top of it.
''But now if someone says, 'I really love that song, Jack', I can enjoy the compliment because I know the conditions under which it was made.''
The '16 Saltines' singer - who was previously leader of The White Stripes and is also in The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather - used around 20 musicians for the album, many of whom were female, as he likes the effect girls have on the dynamic of a band.
He added: ''A couple of years ago, I would have imagined playing most of the instruments myself but it was never the case working on these songs.
''I'd try to shake things up by saying, 'What if we only have female musicians today?'
''''It only takes one girl in the room to change the entire scope of all the testosterone.''
