Jack White And Alicia Keys Duet On Bond Themeby Contributor | 30 July 2008
The theme for Quantum of Solace, the 22nd James Bond film, will be sung by Jack White and Alicia Keys.
For the first time in the franchise's history, the theme song will be a duet.
Another Way to Die, written and produced by White, follows the first Bond theme recorded by a male solo artist, after Chris Cornell's You Know My Name for Casino Royale.
White is also the drummer on the track which will feature on the Quantum of Solace to be released through J Records on October 28th.
The announcement follows months of speculation that the theme would be sung by Amy Winehouse, Duffy or Leona Lewis.
And speaking at the Ivor Novello awards in May, producer Mark Ronson said he and Winehouse were working on a potential song for the film.
However, a statement from Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the film's producers, confirmed that multiple Grammy-winners White and Keys have recorded the theme.
"We are delighted and pleased to have two such exciting artists as Jack and Alicia, who were inspired by our film to join together their extraordinary talents in creating a unique sound for Quantum of Solace," the statement added.
Quantum of Solace is released in the UK on October 31st.
