Jack Scalia - Jack Scalia Charged Over Airport Gun Possession

The former Dallas star was taken into custody after an unloaded Glock pistol was found in his luggage as he attempted to pass through security.

Scalia claimed the firearm had been a gift from a friend, although he had not realised that it was in his bag, and was subsequently released on $10,000 (£6,250) bail.

The actor is now facing two misdemeanour counts, for carrying a concealed firearm and taking a prohibited weapon through the sterile area at the airport.

Scalia's representative Steve Jaffe tells Tmz.com, "Everyone knows Jack's a very bright guy and would never intentionally do such a thing. It was clearly a mistake and it's filed as a misdemeanour. I'm sure it will get worked out."

If convicted, the 62 year old could face up to 18 months behind bars and $2,000 (£1,250) in fines.
