Jack Osbourne - Jack Osbourne Diagnosed With Multiple Sclerosis, Aged 26
Jack Osbourne has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. In an interview with Hello magazine, Jack and his family have revealed that the 26 year-old reality TV star was diagnosed with the condition earlier this year, just weeks before the birth of his first child, daughter Pearl.
Osbourne was tested for the disease after losing around 60 per cent of the vision in his right eye. Talking to the magazine, Jack explained how he has come to terms with the diagnosis. "While I was waiting for the final results, I got really, really angry. Then I got really sad for about two days, and after that I realised, being angry and upset is not going to do anything at this point - if anything it's only going to make it worse. 'Adapt and overcome' is my new motto." The news was made all the harder for Jack - whose parents are Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne and X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne, as it came so close to the birth of his daughter. "The timing was so bad. I'd just had a baby, work was going great - I kept thinking, 'Why now?", he said.
Sharon explained that she is struggling to come to terms with her son's diagnosis and said that she feels partly to blame. "I keep thinking, 'what did I do wrong?" she explained. "What did I eat or drink when I was pregnant?' I feel like it's somehow my fault." Multiple Sclerosis (known as MS) is an incurable autoimmune disease. Jack hopes that by speaking publicly about the illness, he can help to raise awareness for other sufferers.
