Ja Rule - Ja Rule Endured Rough First Night In Prison

Imprisoned rapper Ja Rule clashed with inmates on his first night behind bars after they attempted to "assassinate" his character and criticised him for allegedly receiving special treatment.
The Always On Time hitmaker, real name Jeffrey Atkins, began serving a two-year prison sentence at an incarceration centre in New York in June (11) and the star admits his stay got off to a rough start.
Opening up about his jail time in the new issue of Vibe magazine, Ja Rule reveals his fellow prisoners deliberately tried to provoke him by hurling cruel taunts his way.
He writes, "My first night here was crazy inmates screaming, banging, and kicking the doors...
"I even got into it wit (with) these stupid n**gas trying to assassinate my character, talkin (sic) about I'm snitching to the guards and that I'm getting special treatment. I barked on these n**gas and set em (them) straight 'cause, as a man, there's only so much you can take before you snap.
"At first I tried to ignore there lil (little) comments until they started talkin (sic) s**t like they gonna kick my door and all this clown s**t. But the funny thing is when I started screaming on them, lettin (sic) them know they got the wrong n**ga they got excited. It was like that's what they wanted to bring the hood out of me (sic)..."
But Ja Rule soon discovered his fellow inmates were actually interested in hearing all about his music career.
He adds, "After I set em (them) straight they wanted to talk & ask me about the industry. I could tell they wanted to be my friend but just didn't know how to go about it."
Ja Rule was sentenced for weapons charges relating to a 2007 arrest in New York. He was ordered to serve an additional 28 months in prison for failing to file his income tax returns.
