Troubled rapper Ja Rule is facing more prison time after pleading guilty to evading taxes on income amounting to more than $3 million (£1.88 million).
The Always On Time hitmaker, who is set to begin a two-year jail term for weapons charges in June (11), confessed to the tax crime during a federal court hearing in New Jersey on Tuesday (22Mar11). The count stems from money earned between 2004 and 2006.
Two other charges against the star for unpaid taxes in 2007 and 2008 were dropped as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.
Ja Rule, real name Jeffrey Atkins, will learn his fate in the case when he is sentenced in June (11).
He faces up to one year behind bars and $100,000 (£62,500) in fines.
