Isley Brothers Star Marvin Dead At 56
08 June 2010The bassist passed away on Sunday night (06Jun10) in Chicago, Illinois.
He became a member of the family soul supergroup in the 1970s alongside brother Ernie and cousin Chris Jasper.
Marvin has been credited with giving the group its funk sound on hits such as Fight the Power and That Lady.
Isley was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 alongside his bandmates. He retired from performing in 1997, so he could concentrate on his diabetes battle. His legs were amputated due to his severe condition.
