Talking on the news to the broadcaster, Giddings commented "I'm really sorry, I really appreciate all the support everyone has given us under the conditions... but the weather has been absolutely horrendous." Already the festival's main car park has been hit by flooding and his waterlogged, causing huge travel congestion. The NME is reporting that some 600 people were stranded on ferries overnight because traffic build-up meant that passengers couldn't disembark.
The weather is currently forecast to be wet, although it will dry up in time for headliner Tom Petty's set later tonight. Tomorrow, during the day, it should be a dry affair too, although rain will come in the evening and it's going to get even worse come Sunday with the worst weather of the weekend expected. Bruce Springsteen headlines that last night but you wonder whether even The Boss will be able to convince people to stick it out for the duration.
