Karl Lagerfeld is designing his own island.
The eccentric designer has teamed up with architecture firm Oppenheim and the KOR hotel group to create Isla Moda, a manmade island situated 20km off the Dubai coast.
Inspired by the floating palaces of India and cruise ships, the resort will consist of three luxury hotels, 150 residential villas and a host of chic boutiques and will be completed by 2014.
As well as his own island, it was recently revealed Karl had designed a range of Coca-Cola Light bottles.
The Chanel designer created a limited edition bottle for release in France, made in aluminium and featuring his own silhouette.
As well as designing the bottles, he also shot the advertising campaign starring models Coco Rocha and Baptise Giacobini.
In the campaign, Coco is seen in a Lagerfeld-inspired outfit, including his eponymous high-collared white shirt and a black neck tie.
And it wasn't the only collaboration Karl committed himself to - it was announced he would be working with luxury Italian label Hogan in 2011.
