Christopher Eccleston - Is There A Doctor In The House? Christopher Eccleston Takes A Sinister Turn To Become New Thor Villain
Former Doctor Who Christopher Eccleston will be following the lead he set himself in 28 Days Later and GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra, when he returns to the screen in the upcoming sequel to 2009's Thor.
The Brit actor is said to be taking on the role of Malekith The Accursed, ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim and long-time foe of Thor in the Marvel Comic series.
KENNETH BRANAGHAN will pass over the reigns of director to Alan Taylor, who will be residing over most of the first movie's cast, including Chris Hemsworth, who will return as Thor.
If you want to know what is set to happen in the film, which is officially titled Thor: The Dark World, then you need to be a Marvel executive as the studio are keeping all story details in the deepest reaches of Asgard.
In the comics, Malekith first becomes involved when he allies himself with Loki, who is played by Tom Hiddleston, on the whim of a fire demon named Surtur, which could be included in the plot of the next film.
The villain also has a plotline in the comics where he finds the mystical Casket of Ancient Winters and in doing so unleashes a frightful winter all over Earth. However, given the Frost Giants theme in the first movie then this story might be a little unlikely.
