Saturday Night Live - Is Seth Meyers Joining Kelly Ripa? "No, No, No, No, No"
Seth Meyers has vehemently denied that he is leaving his position as head writer of Saturday Night Live to join Kelly Ripa on her daytime television show. In an interview with the Orlando Sun-Sentinel, the comedian was asked whether he would be joining the show. His reply? "No, no, no, no, no".
Meyers was the overwhelming favorite to take over the hot-seat from Regis Philbin on 'Live with Regis and Kelly', who departed last year, though the comedian said, "I know [Philbin's] replacement is a very important thing down there. But, right now, what I would say to you: I'm really in love with the job I have. I'm very excited to be going back [to 'snl'] for the election season, which is always fun". Though show bosses were understood to have been incredibly keen to land Meyers, it seems his would-be colleague Kelly Ripa had other ideas, telling Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, "When you see Seth Meyers in the morning, it is like looking at a vampire. He's not ready - he's like, 'How do you do this everyday?". Meyers ruling himself out of the running essentially opens things up for musician Josh Groban - who has been heavily linked to the role - and former Nfl great Michael Strahan, who appears to be the people's choice to replace Philbin.
Meyers has been guest co-hosting 'Live with Kelly' this week to a positive response from viewers, though it appears audiences shouldn't get too attached to the funny-man.
