Adam Lambert - Is Adam Lambert The Face Of American Idol's Revolution?
Adam Lambert is being lined up to replace Randy Jackson on American Idol, after producers decided the show is in need of a makeover. With the likes of 'The Voice' recording huge success with a contemporary judging line-up that includes Adam Levine and Cee-lo Green, Fox bosses are understandably keen to give the aging talent show a complete overhaul.
The current line-up of Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Jackson is clearly high profile, though doesn't appeal to a new generation of music lovers obsessed with the likes of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and One Direction. Some sources suggest 'Idol' bosses are keen to put together a completely new judging line-up, with former runner-up Adam Lambert understood to be No.1 on the shortlist. Insiders say Miley Cyrus is also being touted as a possible replacement for Lopez, with a young rocker likely to come in for Tyler. In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, Lambert essentially sent out a 'come and get me' plea, saying, "'Idol' has an amazing history of introducing great musical talent, and I was very fortunate to have had the 'Idol' stage play a big part in my career. If 'Idol' wants to talk to me about judging, I'd be more than flattered to have that conversation".
Plagued by flagging ratings and increased competition, American Idol is keen to reinstate itself as one of the biggest shows on American television. One source told E! News, "They want to keep the soul of the show but have a new look, and, for that reason, he may well not be part of the new line up."
