The Inbetweeners - Inbetweeners Movie Sequel In Development
A sequel to 'The Inbetweeners Movie' is in development and looks set to net Joe Thomas, James Buckley, Simon Bird and Blake Harrison £2.5 million each.
A sequel to 'The Inbetweeners Movie' is in development.
The comedy series' co-creator Damon Beesley is working on a follow up to the 2011 film - which sees Joe Thomas, James Buckley, Simon Bird and Blake Harrison play four socially-troubled adolescents who go on a lads' holiday to Malia - with Ian Morris because the writers ''miss'' working with the four stars.
Damon said: ''I don't want to give too much away at this stage but yes, we have been developing an idea for a sequel.
''We miss working with Simon, Joe, James and even Blake too much not to give it a go.''
Joe, James, Simon and Blake look set to receive £2.5 million each from the sequel after the first movie - for which they were paid £500,000 apiece - was such a success, and Damon admits he and Ian want to ''do Justice'' to the original film.
A source added to The Sun newspaper: '''The Inbetweeners' took off like a rocket, far beyond many expectations.
''The budget was low and no one got shedloads of money up front so understandably everyone wants to cash in the second time round.''
One possible storyline for the movie would see the quartet - unlucky-in-love Simon (Joe), crude Jay (James), geeky Will (Simon) and lanky Neil (Blake) - reunited for Neil's stag do, but details of the plot are yet to be confirmed.
