Iain Banks' wish to become a published poet is finally coming true.

The late Scottish author, who died last June (13), wanted to have a book of poems published before he passed away.

He lost his battle with cancer before the project could get underway, but his publishers have now confirmed they will honour his last wish by releasing his poetry book next February (15).

The Wasp Factory author previously said of his poetry ambitions, "I'm going to see if I can get a book of poetry published before I kick the bucket (die). I've got about 50 I'm proud of."
