Posted by the man himself, a Justin Timberlake YouTube video has given a tantalising hint that new music from the star is on its way.

Various reports have been floating around suggesting that a new Timberlake track featuring Jay Z might be in the offing today, with a tweet from Timberlake’s own Twitter only promising “Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 9:01 am PST...” That time has now arrived and the pop star has uploaded a minute long video which doesn’t answer those Jay Z rumours, but does confirm that that, well, something’s going to be happening.

“Someone asked me the other day ‘so are you just done with music?’” so begins Timberlake’s voice as he appears in black and white, walking through a building. The monologue continues. “It means more to me than anybody else in the world. Look I’ve only done two albums in ten years that’s the way I really look at it, what does the next decade mean for me? I’m the one who sits and is obsessive about it before you even get to hear it.” Carrying on, the star adds “As close as I get to it, I don’t know that I could physically torture myself year in year out and expect it to fulfil me the way that it does and the way that it is right now. I don’t want to put anything out that that I feel like is something I don’t love. You just don’t get that every day. You have to wait for it.” Finally making it to a studio, Timberlake slips on a pair of headphones, stands by a mic and says simply “I’m ready.”

Ready for what, Justin? A new single? Album? The last Timberlake single was 'Summer Love', released in 2007 (though he has appeared as a featured artist since). All we know is, something’s on the horizon… see the video for yourself.
