Human League - Human League Axe Irish Concerts
The Human League have pulled out two upcoming gigs in Ireland after a dispute with the promoter.
The New Wave stars were booked to play at the Summer Sessions event in Dublin next month (May12), but they have axed their sets after allegedly failing to receive the payment they were promised.
A statement posted on the band's Facebook.com page reads, "It is with very great regret that The Human League must announce their withdrawal from the bill of the Summer Sessions concerts at Iveagh Gardens on the weekend of Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th May.
"We have been forced, reluctantly, to withdraw from this event by the repeated failure of the promoter, Mr John Greaney of The Event Company in Naas, to make any of the scheduled payments we were due under the terms of our contract with him whatsoever, indeed he has to date paid us nothing at all to guarantee this show and this despite our giving him several extensions to the original contracted deadline."
The Don't You Want Me hitmakers are also urging fans to seek out refunds, adding: "We offer our sincere apologies for this turn of events. We have tried our very best to ensure this concert took place but without some guarantee our costs will be reimbursed to us we cannot book air tickets, ferries and so on, so events are now beyond our control."
