Hugs All Round As Kidman Shows Faith In Indian Sect
The Aussie Oscar winner was spotted at a recent gathering of Amma followers in Sydney.
Devotees of Amma - real name Mata Amritanandamayi - believe hugs have healing qualities and help desperate people overcome illness and depression.
Kidman reportedly showed up unannounced at Sydney's Subud Hall with a devotee of the sect - and stayed at the meeting with another 80 people for two hours.
A bystander says, "She listened intently, smiled frequently and seemed very relaxed."
Amma is believed to have hugged 30 million people since fronting the sect 30 years ago.
