Hugh Laurie has starred in 'House' for the last time.
The 52-year-old actor plays Dr. Gregory House in the US medical drama, which came to an end last night (21.05.12) after eight years on TV in a series finale called 'Everybody Dies'.
The episode began with Hugh's suicidal alter-ego getting trapped inside a burning building where he hallucinated and confronted his demons.
House's hallucinations paved the way for the return of a number of departed characters in the series including his ex- girlfriend Stacy Warner (Sela Ward), Lawrence Kutner (Kal Penn), Amber Volakis (Anne Dudek) and Allison Cameron (Jennifer Morrison).
The last few episodes of the season have kept viewers guessing about whether House or his only friend, Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), would die of cancer, but both men survive.
Some of the final scenes see the two men ride off into the sunset on motorcycles with the 1949 song 'Enjoy Yourself (It's Later Than You Think)' playing in the background.
