Houston's Final Songs To Sparkle In New Movie
She will sing one track on camera while the other, a duet with her movie daughter Jordin Sparks, will play over the remake's closing credits.
According to multiple reports, the duet Celebrate was written by R. Kelly.
Sparkle is in post-production and on schedule, according to Sony Pictures executives. It is scheduled to hit cinemas this summer (Aug12).
The movie, a remake of Fame star Irene Cara's 1976 rags-to-riches story, was set to launch Houston's movie comeback - it is her first film since The Preacher's Wife in 1996.
Houston had been working on the project for over a decade and initially wanted tragic Aaliyah to play her daughter in the film. The soul singer died in a plane crash in 2001.
Cee Lo Green also appears in the movie.
