Hope Solo Tests Positive For Banned Diuretic
Officials at the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency have confirmed the 30-year-old goalkeeper tested positive for the diuretic Canrenone and she has accepted a public warning.
Solo insists she was prescribed medication by her personal doctor for pre-menstrual purposes, adding, "I did not know it contained a diuretic."
She adds, "Once informed of this fact, I immediately co-operated with Usada and shared with them everything they needed to properly conclude that I made an honest mistake, and that the medication did not enhance my performance in any way."
