Holy 60s, Batman! Wb To License Tv Characters
In the decade of The Dark Knight , the campy Batman television series of the 1960s seems oddly old-fashioned, but Warner Bros. presumably believes there's still life in the old series yet. It announced a new licensing and merchandising program today (Thursday) built around the "Dynamic Duo" of Batman and Robin and their iconic enemies including The Joker, The Penguin, Egghead, Catwoman, and The Riddler. The studio said that it now has the rights to license the likenesses of each of the characters who were played by Adam West (Batman), Burt Ward (Robin), Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith, Vincent Price, and Eartha Kitt (the principal villains). In a statement, Warner Brothers Consumer Products (WBCP), said, "This is the first time in decades that the show's beloved characters and unforgettable themes are back on the streets and will give fans the chance to capture their favorite moments."
