Holly Valance - Holly Valance Calls For Male Dancers To Wear Heels
Holly Valance, the Australian actress turned musician, has jokingly called for the male contestants on Dancing With The Stars to wear high heels. Valance has been preparing for Saturday's opening show with partner Artem Chigvintsev, but the singer claims the girls are at an immediate disadvantage.
Speaking to Bbc News, Holly said, "The girls have to wear high heels - I'd love to see some of the boys wearing them and see if they don't moan the same as we do. It is a little bit more difficult because you're on the ball of your feet all the time, so that can get quite uncomfortable and quite painful". Valance's partner won last year's competition with ex-Eastenders actress Kara Tointon, but the singer insists he has been patient and "a very good teacher" during their early rehearsals. Artem was similarly pleased with the pair's progress, saying, "There are moments where it looks really good and a lot more moments where it looks in the process of being good". Joining Valance on this year's show is footballer Robbie Savage, Russell Grant, singer Lulu and former Olympic champion boxer Audley Harrison.
There will be no phone votes during Saturday's opening show, however, contestants will still be given scores by the judges for their cha cha or waltz routines.
