The Hangin' with Mr. Cooper star's mum Dolores was driving to watch her grandson play baseball when she was caught up in a five car collision.

Peete went on Twitter.com to express her gratitude that her loved ones had walked away from the smash with only minor injuries, and later thanked fans for flooding her social networking page with well wishes.

She wrote, "Momentofgratitude On the way to my son's bbl (baseball) game today my mom was involved in a 5 car pile up... driver who initiated it fled the scene... Mom walked away just a bit sore Thank God. Every other person was taken to the hospital... You never know what life brings you moment to moment. Be grateful. I am.
