Hines Ward - Hines Ward Dedicates Dance To His Mother
Hines Ward dedicated his leader-board topping performance on last night's Dancing With The Stars to his mother. Contestants had to perform to 'personal songs' that they were encouraged to select themselves, reports Mtv News.
Former Nfl star Ward chose to dance to Earth Wind And Fire's 'Fantasy' and dedicated the energetic routine to his single mother. When asked to explain his song selection, the 35-year-old said, "My whole life experience has been great. I'm very blessed. This is a tribute to her. It's a celebration. We're going to the moon, Ma! We're on Dancing With the Stars!". Ward's mother watched on from the live studio audience as her son wowed the judges with a series of complicated steps. The routine received unanimous praise and Ward was rewarded with a score of 25 out of a possible 30 to tie for first place with supermodel Petra Nemcova. Talk show host Wendy Williams received the lowest second of the evening with a disappointing 15. She and partner Tony Dovolani danced a foxtrot to 'Last Night a DJ Saved My Life' but the judges highlighted the lack of fluidity.
Back in September 2010, Hines Ward was appointed by President Barack Obama as a member of the Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
