Actress-and-singer Hilary Duff has been left devastated by the death of her pet dog Lola.
Hilary Duff's pet dog has died.
The 25-year-old actress is devastated following the passing of her beloved seven-year-old Chihuahua, Lola - who has been suffering from ill health for a number of years - this week and she has asked her fans to pray for the departed tiny pooch.
Hilary broke the news on Twitter last night (25.06.13) after posting a picture of the adorable dog with the caption: ''RIP my beautiful Lola girl my heart is broken :( Say a prayer for my little angel (sic)''.
The 'Lizzie Maguire' star later thanked her adoring fans for their supportive messages during the difficult time and admitted she took comfort from their condolences.
She wrote: ''Guys! Thank you for all your well wishes for my beautiful Lola it really means so much when you a hurting to know so many people care. (sic)''
Last Christmas, the pup was put through a serious brain operation following a bout of seizures but appeared to be on the mend after she had a shunt planted in her skull to drain the fluid away.
Hilary - who has a 15-month-old son, Luca, with her husband Mike Comrie - revealed on Twitter at the time: ''Update! Lola was having terrible seizures. She had a shunt put in her skull to drain fluid off her brain and now is doing great.''
