The US version of The Office also picked up an award for outstanding achievement in comedy.

The show follows a similar format to the UK version, written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, and is shown on NBC.

The career achievement award was given to Mary Tyler Moore for her work in film and TV.
