The single, which is raising money for the Help for Heroes campaign and the Poppy Appeal, has so far sold 502,844 copies.
Beyonce won the 'battle of the divas' by bagging the number two spot, while Britney Spears went in at number four and Leona Lewis entered the charts at five.
Girls Aloud are at number three, while their album Out of Control shot straight to number one in the album chart.
The group knocked US singer Pink off the top spot to number two, while her single So What remained at number ten.
Female artists dominated the top ten singles chart this week, with Katy Perry's single Hot 'n Cold at number seven, Alesha Dixon at number eight and Alicia Keys with Jack White at number nine.
