Henry Hill - Henry Hill Lived 'A Complicated Life', Says Ray Liotta
14 June 2012Hill was portrayed on screen by Ray Liotta in Martin Scorsese's classic 1990 movie 'Goodfellas', and the Hollywood star delivered a similar cautious tribute to Stern upon hearing news of the mobster's death this week. He told Tmz.com, "Although I played Henry Hill in the movie Goodfellas, I only met him a few short times so I can't say I knew him but, I do know he lived a complicated life". However, the actor offered his condolences to Hill's loved ones, saying, "My heart goes out to his family and may he finally rest in peace". A onetime assistant of the notorious Lucchese crime family in New York, Henry was involved in the Lufthansa heist at John F. Kennedy International Airport in December 1978, when $5 million in cash and $875,000 in jewels were stolen - the robbery was featured in a scene in Goodfellas.
Henry later turned Fbi informant, and spent several years under the witness protection programme before being kicked out for committing crimes. In recent years, he became a frequent guest on 'The Howard Stern Show', as well as marketing his own spaghetti sauce and opening a restaurant called 'Wiseguys'.
