Hendrix Hero Dead At 67
The colourful musician, who served as soul legend Otis Redding's regular guitarist in the early 1960s, led landmark group THE PINETOPPERS, and became famous for his onstage energy.
The left-handed star's acrobatics included playing the guitar behind his head - a trick Hendrix later perfected.
Hendrix became a huge fan, who followed Jenkins around whenever he performed near his home in MACon, Georgia.
The guitarist disappeared in the 1980s and early 1990s but returned with a comeback album, BLESSED BLUES, in 1995.
