Helm Recovering From Throat Surgery

THE BAND star LEVON HELM is recovering from throat surgery after doctors removed a lesion on his vocal cord.
The rocker, who battled throat cancer in 1998, feared the disease had returned, but doctors assured him his latest ailment was a result of acid reflux.
The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down singer will return to the road this weekend (03Oct09) for an appearance at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in Texas.
Helm has been on vocal rest since the recent surgery.
