Heidi Range - Heidi Range Struggles With First Dancing On Ice Routines
Heidi Range may have been used to choreographed routines whilst serving as one of those walking through the revolving doors of pop group Sugababes, but she found the going a little tougher when on the ice, the star struggling to get through the first weekend of the new series of celebrity reality contest 'Dancing On Ice UK.'
Range found herself in the bottom two alongside 'Blue Peter' presenter Andy Akinwolere after struggling to grapple with partner Andrei Lipanov, scoring a 12.5 which was only better than Akinwolere himself. She was let off after judges Louie Spence and Robin Cousins kept her in, though not without a scare as third judge Katarina Witt commented "Your second performance was more steady and better, but Andy as a celebrity and a non-skater it's more difficult to cover a fast number, to keep the rhythm... I still feel you are the better skater," judgement that Range may well have feel slightly unfair if she had exited the competition.
As it was though she takes her place in the next round alongside other contestants including 'Hollyoaks' actress Jorgie Porter and former 'Pop Idol' contestant Mark Rhodes. It was a strong return for the reality show, with the UK's Metro reporting that it attracted 9.9 million viewers at its peak, taking 36% of the ratings share.
