Hawke Honours New York Workers

Actor ETHAN HAWKE took to the stage in New York on Thursday (28Oct10) to honour the city's hardworking employees at a charity gala.
The Training Day star hosted the Doe Fund's event to celebrate the Men in Blue's Willing and Able Program, which helps former prisoners and the homeless gain work.
Hawke recently visited the scheme's trainees and the actor admits he was inspired by the men who entered the program.
He explains, "I see the adversity these men have gone through and their subsequent triumphs, and I am filled with awe. It humbles me. It makes me love this city and the people in it. Our newspapers and televisions are full of stories of failure, and sometimes we forget to notice there are so many stories of triumph."
