Have The Foo Fighters Played Their Last Ever Gig?
Some people interpreted this message in the extreme and decided that it was Grohl's way of informing the crowd that they were splitting. However, a source close to the band has revealed that they have more concerts scheduled together before the year's out, so you ain't seen the last of the US rock band just yet. The source, who insisted on remaining anonymous, said that Foo Fighters have four US shows planned in September but that after that, they will take time off "after touring the world for a year." Sounds reasonable to us. Whether or not this means that the band will simply be taking time off from touring to write and record new material, or whether they are taking a hiatus altogether is not currently clear.
Foo Fighters started life as a solo project for Dave Grohl, who was formerly the drummer of Nirvana. After Kurt Cobain's death in 1994, Grohl started working on his own music and eventually formed the band around his recording project.
