Hasselbeck Views Goldberg As Co-host
LATEST: American TV host Elisabeth Hasselbeck has waded into discussions over her new co-host, tipping Whoopi Goldberg for the job.
The View presenter is seeking a new colleague on the talk show after Rosie O'Donnell quit the show after a war of words earlier this year (07).
Her replacement is speculated to be either Sherri Shepherd or Whoopi Goldberg, and Hasselbeck already knows who she'd prefer after the Sister Act actress guest hosted recently.
Hasselbeck says, "I loved working with Whoopi Goldberg. She is soulful, has a world of experience to bring to the table, and I don't sense any sort of political agenda.
"She is so funny, but at the same time, she is one of the most thoughtful people that I've met."
Asked if programme creator Barbara Walters is also a fan, Hasslebeck said, "You'd have to ask Barbara. But I'm sure she is. Who isn't into Whoopi? She's an amazing person."
