Nick Lachey - Has Nick Lachey Stolen Kristin Cavallari’S Baby Name?

Nick Lachey and his wife Vanessa Minnillo have welcomed their first child, Camden John Lachey. The pair – who announced Vanessa’s pregnancy back in March, welcomed the baby-boy into the world on Wednesday evening (September 12, 2012) and couldn’t wait to share their news.

In a statement reported by People magazine, the happy couple said, “We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Camden John Lachey…Born today at 6:54 p.m., he came into this world at 8 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches. Love has truly been redefined for both of us.” It will be the first child for both Lachey, 38, and Vanessa, 31. Nick was previously married to Jessica Simpson, the singer and actress who also recently welcomed her first child with new beau Eric Johnson.

However, there seems to be a storm brewing over Lachey and Minnillo’s choice of name – Camden – which is becoming a popular choice for celebrities. Last month, ‘The Hills’ star KRISTIN CAVALLARI and fiance Jay Cutler named their first child Camden, and she isn’t too happy about the latest copycats, telling Twitter followers, “Apparently Camden is a popular name!”. She later assured fans, “By the way that wasn't a bitchy tweet at all...I obviously love the name and I'm glad other people do too.” Hmmm.
